From early childhood I have always had an interest in art.  I discovered clay when my boys became involved in scouts.  We attended a class for them to earn a badge and I became hooked.
I create pots using the traditional native American method of coiling.  I have several stones that I use for smoothing the surface.  I may become inspired by a leaf or flower and I will carve that impression in the surface of that pot.
This pot is pit fired.  It combines my artistic work with the natural element of fire that helps create a myriad of patterns and colors on the clays surface.   This pot is intended for use as an art piece and is not intended for food use or to hold water.
