Nicki Peeples

Born on the coast and raised in the midlands, I developed a love for South Carolina and art for as far back as I can remember. I am married to my wonderful husband, Andrew (A.j.) with whom I have two children, Isabelle and Copeland. They fill my days with sweetness. When I first decided to leave my nine to five so that I could be home with them, I felt the strongest urge to create. I would find myself knee deep in paint late into the night. As a self taught artist, I can assure you that meant MANY failed pieces and scrapped canvases. I struggled to find my voice as an artist. Slowly I developed a rhythm and my hobby became so much more. For that, I am thankful to God for providing me with talents and a job that I love.

I find inspiration in the everyday. All things southern, from the coast to the rural farm life. Chasing light and shadows, movement and intriguing color combinations. I hope to portray a balance between loose abstraction and subtle realism.
