About Ingrid Carson

Ingrid CarsonIngrid Carson emigrated from Germany to the United States in 1951. She has been a South Carolina resident since 1978 receiving a Bachelor of Science in Studio Art from Columbia College in 1990. Her double major was in drawing and photography, but she has since been recognized for her realistic oil paintings and abstract mixed media work.

Ingrid has studied under many nationally known artists. Her quest for originality of thought and subject matter continues to surprise the viewer. She is an oil painting instructor in her home studio in Irmo and exhibits at Nonnah's Gallery on Gervais Street in Columbia. She has exhibited in and won awards in numerous shows including: SC State Fair, McCormick Arts Council, Union County Arts Council, Burroughs Chapin Art Museum, the Florence Museum of Art, and the Columbia Museum of Art.
