Faye Delia Meetze

Faye BioFaye Delia Meetze is a retired secretary and artist living in the Hilton area of Lake Murray. As a child she was always fascinated by color and becoming an artist was something she only dreamed of doing. Later in life she began to focus on art by taking workshops and classes with well-known artists. Known to her family and friends as Faye, she signs her paintings with her middle name, “Delia” as a tribute to her mother.

As one of the founding members of the Crooked Creek Art League she served as secretary and worked on various committees in order to bring more awareness of the visual arts to the Chapin community. In addition to the Crooked Creek Art League Faye also paints with the Corley Mill Painters, and sketches with the About Face Artists` Group. She has won many awards and participates in numerous exhibits and competitions.

In Faye's Words, “Although I love sketching in charcoal, and working with colored pencil, pastel and acrylics, my medium of choice is oil. Painting with oil gives me more freedom to make adjustments as I move from one area of the painting to the next until I can bring the entire work to a successful completion all at once. This “alla prima” style of painting is what I enjoy most about the creative process.”
